Product Owner - Wellington

Method are the makers of beautiful office recycling bins, designed and manufactured in New Zealand. Job Description

Our organisation is growing quickly and we are looking for someone with a strong vision to engage with our customers and lead product development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team and to know you are working in a role that will make a visible change in recycling habits around the world.

In this varied role, you will:

  • Interact with our customers and learn from their waste behaviours
  • Identify customer needs and innovate in the waste industry
  • Lead and inspire the product team
  • Develop product vision with the head of product
  • Manage the execution of product strategy and manage team workload
  • Develop prototypes and assess if we are meeting customer needs
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment
  • Manage and distribute the development budget

More about Method

Method’s award-winning bins came from years of research and continuous design by co-founders Steven and India Korner. With backgrounds in product and graphic design, engineering, and the world of commercial leasing they saw an industry that needed reimagining.

The Korners believed that redesigning office recycling bins would change the way we recycle at work, and it did. Method has transformed the way organisations recycle pioneering the concept of ‘open plan recycling.’ We estimate that in FY2018 we empowered our customers to divert 37 million kilos of waste from landfill.

Since our launch in 2015 we have received continued industry attention. Most recently, Method was highly commended at the NZ International Business awards and won at the ExportNZ Awards, both in the Best Emerging Business category. We have also won three Designers Institute of New Zealand Best Design Awards.
