Q: What is unique about Method?

A: We spent three years researching and prototyping a solution for inconsistent and ineffective office recycling.

This Design Story led to our Method 60L Office Recycling Bins, that connect to create freestanding Method Recycling Stations.

Q: How are Method’s 60L Office Recycling Bins made?

A: Method bins are made in New Zealand from polypropylene, which is 100% fully recyclable plastic. Currently, this material is the strongest, most durable, and most effective for our products.

Q: Do Method 60L Office Recycling Bins come in other sizes?

A: Method's bins are available in 60L because this is the optimal size for office recycling. We do however offer Precyclers – desktop recycling accessories that provide short term storage for waste and recycling.

Q: How many Method Recycling Stations does my office need?

A: We suggest one Method Recycling Station per 30 employees, adhering to our recommendation that every worker should never be more than a ten second walk from recycling bins. We have created our Solution Finder tool to make selection simple for your business.

Q: Where should my Method bins go?

A: Method 60L Office Recycling Bins are designed to be visible and freestanding, because of this they can be placed where you need them most in your office – your Paper bin by your printer, or Organics in your kitchen – but also throughout your space. Q: What colours do Method bins come in?

A: Method bin lids are available in green, amber, blue, grey and red. These colours meet waste industry standards, but have been modified to complement modern workplaces. Method bin bases come in our signature matte black colour.

Q: Can I mount my bins to a wall?

A: With the help of our HD Connector, Method Recycling Stations of any size can be easily mounted to a wall.

Q: Which waste streams do I need for my office or large facility?

A: Waste streams differ depending on the geographical location of where your recycling bins will be. You may find our Solution Finder tool helpful for creating your suggested Method Recycling Station, based on your region and office size.

To help prevent confusion for cleaners and waste service providers, we suggest ensuring your waste streams are the same as those of your site’s larger waste facilities – for example, where your bins will be emptied before being collected.

Q: What bin liners do you recommend for our bins?

A: We recommend our Method 60L Bin liners in Black, Clear, and Green Compostable. Though any liner can be used with the bins, ours have been specifically tailored to fit our 60L Office Recycling Bins perfectly.

Q: Can I use Method bins without liners?

A: The standard practice for most offices is to have their cleaners take their waste to the facilities area of their building, empty the contents and then put their bin liner into the Landfill or Soft Plastics recycling bin.

Method bins can be used without liners, but you will need to clean your Method bin once you have removed the recycling.


When you order with Method, we make sure your products are delivered by the best carrier at the best prices. Shipping costs are estimated for shipping to commercial business location that is easily accessible by the general public.


Orders of 3 or less products are shipped by Courier.

The Courier will deliver during normal weekday business hours.

A signature is required upon delivery. Before you sign for your delivery, check all items have been delivered as shown on the packing slip, and look for any damage to your products.


Orders of 4 or more products are shipped by Freight on pallet(s).

The shipping costs covers a single delivery at ground floor during normal weekday business hours. The costs does not cover delivery above the ground floor. E.g. Level 1 or above.

Freight deliveries require a forklift or pallet jack, and access to a loading dock at the delivery address to safely unload the shipment. If these are not available at the delivery address – a Tailgate special service is required.

A signature is required upon delivery. Before you sign for your delivery, check all items have been delivered as shown on the packing slip, and look for any damage to your products.

Please note: If the freight truck driver tries to make the delivery but is turned away for any reason, there will be a re-delivery fee charged plus any Special Service Requests fees.

Freight: Special Service Requests – not available for online orders

Special Service Requests can be added to a Freight delivery for a fee. Please contact us to request a quote.

  • Tailgate: If you don’t have a forklift or pallet jack, and access to a loading dock – then this service is required. The driver will lower the pallet(s) to the ground and move the pallet(s) to the desired ground floor location. You will be responsible for unpacking the pallet(s), and disposal of the empty pallet(s).
  • Hand unload: The driver will remove the recycling bins from the pallet(s), and take the pallet(s) with them when they leave.
  • Weekday date & time specific: You can request a weekday date and time specific delivery.

Q: What is your returns policy?

A: We’ve made our return policy as easy as possible. You must return your product within 30 days of the product being shipped. Product must be returned to us in good, unused condition and in its original packaging. We require a sales order number, sale invoice number or proof of purchase. Custom orders are unable to be returned. We charge a $20 restocking fee per every 1-3 items returned.

Q: How do I return my Method order?

We recommend you use a reliable, trackable means to return your product to us as we are not responsible for missing consignments.

Please contact us know if you intend to return product to us and we'll be in touch once we have received your return.

Q: How long does it take to process returns?

A: If your return meets all of our return policy requirements, we will process the exchange or refund and send you a confirmation email. Any price variance will either be charged via invoice or credited to you.

If a product is deemed unfit for return, we will notify you the return has been rejected and no exchange or refund will be issued to you. The product will be shipped back to you at your cost.

The processing time is 5 - 10 business days from the date we receive your return.

Q: There’s a fault with my product. What do I do?

A: Contact our Customer Success team if you can’t diagnose the fault with your product.

Q: Can I customise my order?

A: If you have a custom order request, contact us for a quote. Minimum order quantities and additional charges will apply.

Q: Can Method collect my waste?

A: We do not collect recycling, organics, or waste. Contact our Customer Success team for recommendations on waste service providers in your region.

Q: Do your bins come with a guarantee?

A: Every single one of our 60L Office Recycling Bins comes with a three year warranty.

Q: I’m having difficulty ordering online

A: Contact us for help with processing your order. Our opening hours (NZDT) are as follows: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.

Q: How do I clean my Method bins?

A: To best clean our bins, we advise a soft cloth and a mild non-abrasive detergent.

We advise against washing Method lids in your dishwasher, or rinsing Touch lids as this may result in damage to the product.

Q: How do I clean my Precyclers?

A: Our Precyclers can be washed by hand with a soft cloth and a mild detergent, or they can be safely washed in your dishwasher.

Q: Can Method bins be kept outside?

A: The bins have been designed for an internal environment, therefore we advise against them being kept outside.
