2x Web Development Interns - Wellington

We have re-designed workplace recycling and now we’re looking to how we can further partner with organisations to divert more waste from landfill. Our goal is to help drive sustainable change and divert 1 billion kgs of waste from landfill by 2030.

Our award-winning products can be found in the world’s most influential workplaces from the offices of Atlassian, Canva, The Sydney Cricket Ground and many more.

Since our launch in 2015, we have grown globally, with teams in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. We have an exciting opportunity for two summer interns to join our product team to build a new web platform.

About the role
Your mission is to help develop the next generation of our products by providing your excellent web engineering skills & customer-centric thinking.
In this development role, you will:

  • Work with our inhouse team of designers and engineers to develop beautiful web experiences
  • Maintain a laser focus on the customer requirements
  • Have the ability to tackle problems how you want - you’re part of the team and we value your input
  • Take part in code and feature reviews - of your own work and others
  • Be committed to learning and take ownership of the work you’re developing
  • Be a team player, take part in wider company activities and team discussions

About you

We’d like you to have the following:

  • Experience with creating web platforms using:
    • Python (Django & Flask)
    • HTML, CSS and Javascript
    • Figma
    • Databasing (PostgreSQL)
    • Or similar to the above
  • A passion for engineering and technology (show us this by telling us about your personal/ uni projects)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced small team that prides itself on being lightweight and agile
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see the big picture while being able to work on the finer details
  • Grit – ability to stay calm and focused in a dynamic environment
  • Be studying (or have recently completed) an NZQA level 7+ tertiary qualification
  • An interest in sustainability is a plus
